Peter Gabriel took the festival stage with Angelique Kidjo to celebrate the 40th anniversary.

Gabriel said Kidjo, originally from Benin, West Africa, convinced him to take the main stage to perform Mama Africa with her.

Peter told the BBC that he enjoyed joining her on stage on Friday night.

Speaking of the festival's 40th anniversary, he said: "It's incredible. I don't think in 1982 we had the slightest idea of ​​what could have become and continued for so long."

He is currently working on a new album, due out in 2023, but has limited himself to saying that he is reducing the number of songs he has written for the record from 17 to 13.
