The concert took place Saturday 11 January 2020 allo Space Theater 89 of Via F.lli Zoia 89 a Milan, equipped, among other things, with excellent acoustics, perfect for the sounds of Genesis By Real Dream.

Il "GENESIS DREAM" of Milan developed in 2 stages:

Il first dedicated to songs from "THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY" a journey through the most representative tracks of the double concept, the last with Peter Gabriel in training.

Il second half it was a further step back into the Gabriel era, with mythical excerpts from "FOXTROT", "SELLING ENGLAND BY THE POUND" and "NURSERY CRYME"

Here is the set list:

- The Lamb lies down on Broadway - Fly on a Windshield - Cuckoo Cocoon - In the Cage - Counting Out Time - Carpet Crawlers - The Chamber of 32 Doors - Anyway - Here Comes the Supernatural Anesthetist - Lamia - In the Rapids + IT

- Dancing with the Moonlit Knights - Get'em Out by Friday - Firth of Fifth - The Cinema Show - The Musical Box

- BIS: Supper's Ready

- BIS: The Knife

As you can see, despite the generosity of Real Dream which, after two abundant hours of music, they conceded as none other than Supper's Ready, the very warm Milanese public asked for another yet. And at this point The Knife it was the worthy and historic conclusion, with one standing ovation final.

Horizons Radio interviewed Real Dream before the Milanese event:

Horizons Radio: In February, celebrate one year from the first live of the new formation. What have been the satisfactions of these 12 months?

Paolo Tenerini: "This 2019 has been incredible ... From that February 9th at Carignano theater in Genoa (my debut as a singer of REAL DREAM) was all a succession of emotions, concerts, constant study of the songs, new ideas for live and above all ... an incredible avalanche of affection from the public!

We did not expect it at the beginning, but it was a constant crescendo, which continues and which surprises us every day: just think of the birth of our fan club on the initiative of Filippo Gaggero, one of ours fan di Chiavari, a very lucky initiative that is making our audience grow day by day.

As for me then, let me say that Richard Macphail's words, at the end of our GENESIS LIVE in Savignone, I will never forget them! "

Can you reveal them to us?

Paolo Tenerini: "Ok ... Richard said to me: 'You don't sing like Peter ... you have Peter's soul inside you ..!'"

How and in what do you think you grew up in this period?

Paolo Tenerini: “The feeling and the harmony between the members. After I joined the group it was necessary to create a new team and, like the players train, but then it is on the pitch that you can see if they are close-knit, we needed to test ourselves with many live, which fortunately have arrived. Thanks to live concerts, the feelingin fact, both personal and human as well as musical and technical among us. "

You started i live with very few effects and costumes on stage. Then there was an evolution. How and why?

Paolo Tenerini: “I must say that I was very helped by Paolo Viccinelli, who convinced me, by overcoming my initial resistance, to dare. In some songs I use masks similar to those that Peter Gabriel wore, as in finale of 'The Musical Box' one of the most exciting points of our show, even in Milan.

But Paolo convinced me to use very simple masks, however very evocative also in other passages. Masks that we created, such as those in 'Get'Em Out By Friday' or in 'The Fountain of Salmacis'. I was a little intimidated at the beginning, but the public, in front of these innovations, reacted in a truly superior way to our expectations.

Because, together with my gestures functional to the song, the mask explains even better what the song tells. That's why there has been an evolution, also from this point of view.

What challenges have you set for the Band's next year?

Andrea Orlando: “The first challenge we set ourselves is that of make the band known abroad. It is not easy because, despite the fundamental role that i have social, name and activity live they inevitably have more visibility on the national territory. However, our goal is to broaden our range of action, because we are convinced that, even outside Italy, the group is able to arouse the interest of the public.

The other challenge is to try to always improve, in terms of individual technique and collective performance. We think that, working steadily, over the years we have achieved good results, and the response of the public has gradually grown, but we believe it is important never to settle down, and not to stop wondering if we can achieve ever higher goals.

The ambition, when it is not accompanied by the competitiveness of the individual, but is felt as the need to make the group grow as a whole, is in our opinion one of the most important aspects in the life of the group itself. "

The ladder has always been in evolution. How did you transform it?

Andrea Orlando: “For now, our repertoire mainly concerns the Gabriel era, but for the future we are thinking of proposing also a set of the following period. We have so far proposed two different shows: the first, which we have called "Genesis Dream", proposes probably the most loved songs of the golden age of Genesis. Within this set, however, we try to alternate, in each concert, the different songs that we have in the repertoire (and that cover most of the period '70 / 74), and propose every time set list different.

The second show that we present is the complete re-presentation of 'The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway', an undertaking as demanding as it is fascinating and suggestive. We think that many Genesis fans are particularly attached, like us, to this extraordinary and complex work, and we hope that hearing it in full live can be as gratifying for the spectators as it is for us to perform it.

In some cases, then, we propose a mixed lineup, which includes a selection of pieces from 'The Lamb' in the first part, and some pieces from the historical period in the second part. "

And how will it change further, in which direction?

Andrea Orlando: “In the coming months we will work on two new shows, which will alternate with the previous ones we talked about, because, as we said, one of the principles we follow is precisely to diversify our proposal as much as possible live, for the public that follows us, but also to measure ourselves with always different songs, always looking for new 'challenges', on the executive and interpretative level. For now, we prefer not to reveal details about these new lines ... but we can say that from next year there will be some big surprises for those who follow us! "

Do you ever quarrel about the songs to put on the lineup (as Genesis did in the composition of the albums)?

Tiziano Tacchella: "The construction of every single set of pieces is often a source of discussion in the band, because you have to find a way to tease the public with novelties, trying never to be banal or obvious, but there have never been any quarrels about it. The harmony that reigns between us, also for the fact that we are a group of friends as well as musicians, ensures that the right compromise is always found between personal tastes (yes, each of us also has his own favorite pieces) and the audience we are going to entertain; let's say that so far this marriage has always worked. "

On January 11 you start the new year with an important date in Milan.

Paolo Tenerini: "We consider the Milan date fundamental and therefore, as a coach for the final of Champions League tries to field the best team, we want the Milanese public, who sees us for the first time, to have a show with the best of what we know how to do.

In the first part I will take on the role of Rael and we will perform some mythical pieces of 'The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway', then, in the second part, we will return to the previous songs, taken from 'Nursery Cryme', 'Foxtrot' and Selling England by the Pound '.

Then you will have other important dates such as Verona and Turin. How does the audience respond to your live performances?

Tiziano Tacchella: "If we play in the most beautiful and important Italian cities, it really is thanks to the continuous request of ours fans who shudder to get to know us personally and because they want to appreciate ours performance live; for a year now we have been getting to know us all over Italy thanks to the videos that are being played on social, dozens every day subscribe to our Facebook pages to appreciate the interpretation of the songs that we offer, but attending one of our concerts directly in the theater or in large squares is certainly more rewarding. During the live, between the public and the band, the right empathy is established and one fully enjoys the original theatricality of ours front man Paolo Tenerini. "

You are among the very few to have a real one fan club. How does it feel?

Tiziano Tacchella: “The fan club of Real Dream, a real one Team born spontaneously from the passion of President Filippo Gaggero, he initially took us by surprise because at our levels it is not a common thing, but it is extremely gratifying because the transport with which we are followed is truly equal to the commitment that we put into reproducing music.

We know we can count on the group of RealDreamers as if they were the sixth member of the band, offer us ideas and developments that we had not thought of, follow us at every concert, organize wonderful evenings, actively participate in our growth and we will never stop thanking them for the work they do every day for us. "

Among other Genesis Tribute Band which one do you value most?

Paolo Viccinelli: “I have always said that in music and especially in music Tribute Band Genesis, there is room for everyone. Who is really passionate about the music of our great masters usually (with some exceptions), is a positive and proactive musician, and looks with sincere interest and admiration who proposes to play this extraordinary music.

There are Tribute Genesis worldwide and many are at an extraordinary level of quality. For decades, the Canadian Musical Box professionals have been surprising the foreign Tributes for musical quality and historicity of the theatrical and scenic offer. But Argentine Genetics are also very good.

In Europe there are Tribute band good and interesting, especially for the Collinsian period of Genesis, but I feel a little cold. Being able to express warmth and emotions in one live it is not for everyone and the right notes for a nice homework are not enough, it takes more, a quid particular, or if you want, a warm magic that envelops the audience and those who play, in a circle of emotions.

In Italy I can mention The Watch in Milan and Supper's Ready in Bolzano, two excellent bands with extraordinary musicians.

Real Dream have always offered themselves with warmer music and a non-photocopied theatrical proposal by Genesis, but which draws directly from our Italian musical history. In one concept we can say that we Real Dreams interpret the pieces with passion and warmth, remaining historically faithful to the musical themes of Genesis. "

I REAL DREAM (Genesis Tribute Band) were born in Genoa in 1996 and are immediately appreciated for their Live dedicated to the Genesis of the Peter Gabriel period.

Over the years the band has gone through various vicissitudes and collects numerous awards, among which the Live of Genoa stands out in the presence of Steve hackett in 2012, (during which the legendary Genesis guitarist rewards the "colleague" Real Dream Tiziano Tacchella with a plaque) and in August 2019 the Sold Out of Savignone (GE), in the presence of Richard McPhail e Mino Perfume.

With the entry of the new singer in 2018 e front man Paolo Tenerini, the Genoese band has found a new "theatricality", creating live new atmospheres and moments of great suggestion, proposing in some songs the masks created by Peter Gabriel (as for example in the legendary "The Musical Box") but also surprising the audience with masks and Real Dream creation gestures that Genesis fans welcomed with enthusiasm.

Currently the band is engaged in a National tour which, starting from Chiavari, will bring them, after Milan, to touch Genoa, Foligno, Turin, Verona, Grosseto and other Italian cities.

La current lineup:

Paolo Tenerini (Voice)

Andrea Orlando (Drums)

Tiziano Tacchella (Guitar)

Paolo Viccinelli (Bass, Bass Pedal, 12-string guitars)

Alessandro La Corte (Keyboards)

A journey into the mythical world of Genesis of the period most appreciated by fans of the first hour, the one from 1970 to 1978.

Tribute Band: “Our 25 years with Genesis”, INTERVIEW with The Musical Box

The musical box, the most important and acclaimed world tribute band of Genesis, have been in Italy with a new and unpublished show with the music of their historical albums: Trespass, Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound, A Trick Of The Tail, Wind & Wuthering and And Then They Were Tree.

November 18 in Rome, Brancaccio Theater

November 19 in Ancona, Teatro Le Muse - WITH A VERY UGLY AND VERY SHAME UNEXPECTED (we always let ourselves be recognized):

November 20 in Udine, Teatro Nuovo

Before their arrival in Italy, The Musical Box gave Horizons Radio an interview:

Horizons Radio: The schedule of the next concerts of the European tour will be similar to that of the first stage of Extravaganza Volume 2?

The Musical Box: Yes. We had to change the lineup for Volume 1 many times to try to fix it and satisfy as many people as possible and play as many songs as possible. For the Volume 2 we stayed true to setlist original that we had planned at the end of the first tour.

The first part is focused on the most recent songs ("A Trick of the Tail", "Wind and Wuthering" and "... And Then There Were Three ..."), and then it's time for the Gabriel era. Because?

For the same reason as the Volume 1. The Musical Box have played the Genesis of the Gabriel era for over 25 years and our fans are even more used to this period. We had a lot of fun working on the "Collins material", learning it and playing it for A Genesis Extravaganza. But we always go back to the older material.

The encore is special.

The encore is the band's favorite Genesis song.

Denis Gagné sings both as "Peter Gabriel" and as "Phil Collins". It's difficult?

Gabriel will be more and more natural for Denis, but he's doing well with Collins too.

After years of touring single albums, why did you decide to change with A Genesis Extravaganza?

The time had come to try something new. So when we return to the original tours after a couple of years, we will hear once again.

Celebrate 25 years of Band activity. Do those who founded it still have the initial enthusiasm?

There are still 2 original members and the way they keep their enthusiasm is to try and do new things, old sounds and new songs.

You have changed formation several times. Is playing in The Musical Box stressful, difficult or demanding?

Yes, that's all, sooner or later.

Your last line-up was when Ian Benhamou ("Tony Banks") and Bob St-Laurent ("Phil Collins") became new members of the band. Why these changes?

Because people switch to other projects or don't want to spend months and months on tours away from home. There are all possible reasons. An example: Marc Laflamme, the previous drummer, was hired in 2008 for one tour, but remained for 10 years. He ran a musical instrument store around the same time.

What is the biggest difficulty in playing Genesis?

Trying to sound like them, reproducing their own sounds and doing it concert after concert.

And what is the most beautiful emotion in playing Genesis?

Being able to do justice to the songs and geniuses in their twenties who have written all these wonderful masterpieces.

"Gabriel was" or "Collins was", which one is your favorite and why?

There is good in all Genesis eras, but for us the Gabriel era was the most exciting, musically most adventurous.

Are you in contact with any former Genesis member?

Not really anymore. If there is a need to discuss something with them we mostly do it through agents or it staff of the group. At the beginning we had many questions to ask them and we often met them and from there certain relationships developed.

You have a long world tour until spring 2020. Do you ever stop?

Usually during the summer months, but then we start planning the next tour.

You are also arriving in Italy, six dates. Do you feel the special bond that the Italian public has always had towards Genesis?

Yes, since the first time we played in Italy in 2004 we have heard that these people listened to and welcomed Genesis seriously and enthusiastically.

Do you have a special message for your Italian fans?

Many of the songs we play on this tour will most likely be performed for the last time. We hope you come to hear them and that you like them Volume 2 as much as Volume 1.

Genesis & Co. Tribute Band: Real Dream, interview with Paolo Tenerini

Tribute Band by Genesis & Co. live. Paolo Tenerini tells Horizons Radio about the next Real Dream concert on June 30th in his city of Grosseto.

English English Italiano Italiano

By Eugenio Delmale

HR You were very young with Squonk, a pioneer of Genesis music in Grosseto and Tuscany. Now come back again to propose them in your city with Real Dream. What do you feel?

PT I am sincerely excited; I was 15 when, with my beloved Squonk, I went on stage for the first time, singing some Genesis songs in the Aula Magna of a Grosseto school ... Now I am about to realize the dream of doing it again, after so many years, with i Real Dream and ... a chilling ladder!

Is performing in front of an audience of friends and fellow citizens an advantage or do you feel a greater weight on yourself?

It is an even greater responsibility ... but it is my own thing, linked to my personal emotions, to my memories, to the relationship with my city. For the rest of the Band it is clear that it will not be the same thing, even if they can't wait to make their debut in Maremma.

How do the rest of the band, who are not from Grosseto, feel this concert?

As I said, they can't wait to debut in Maremma; for them it is the first time in this land and they are clearly excited and curious!

Is there a desire for this kind of music in the city that you know of?

In Grosseto there are many Genesis fans (including me ..!). Many with whom I have shared this passion since childhood, will be present at our GENESIS LIVE and this makes me immensely pleased. When word got out about this event, a good deal started tam-tam among the Genesians ..!

If I'm not mistaken, there are no other Genesis Tribute Bands in Grosseto and even in Tuscany they are very few. How is the view, do you know it?

It's true, in Tuscany there are very few Genesis-Tribute Bands but maybe I don't know of some of them; if you think about it, I from Grosseto realized this dream thanks to Real Dream, a Genoese band. Over the years I have been called a few times by bands that were being born in Tuscany (I think of Primordial Broth, or Regenesis) but then it didn't go on.

How do you think you evolved into the role of Peter Gabriel from those years (late 70's - early 80's) to today?

My approach to the Genesis masterpieces of the Gabriel period has always been the same: absolute respect. Seriousness, constant study; continuous listening of the songs, study of the videos and the attempt, more than to faithfully reproduce, to make my "soul Gabriel" my own and to transmit it to the public in the most "emotional" way possible.

What advice would you give today to the Squonks of the time?

To the Squonks of that time I would say: don't melt, stay together, perfect yourself with constancy and stubbornness, because you deserve to carry around the Music of Genesis and make your dream come true! Ah ... then of course I would add: I love you!

What about today's Real Dreams?

Um ... the same advice I just gave to Squonks!

Have you further transformed the lineup for this concert?

Since on June 30th we will be in Grosseto, my city, the others of the Band gave me the gift of being able to choose the ladder ... I can only tell you that you will not be disappointed!

What about your props?

The props (masks, make-up and costumes) are ready ... I am very happy with the reaction that the public had in front of some of my little "inventions", which obviously respect the atmospheres that Genesis and Gabriel in particular knew how to create on stage.

Thank you for this interview and let's imagine a special determination on your part for the June 30th appointment in Grosseto.

Thanks to the legendary Horizons Radio, which is always so punctual and close to Real Dream ... We look forward to seeing you in Grosseto ... we can't wait!
