The ceremony will take place on May 22 as part of a concert by the KUG Jazz Orchestra with The Vine Street Horns & Brad Cole.
It is the first honorary doctorate of the KUG ever. Rectorate and Senate of the University of Music and Performing Arts have decided to honor the doctorate on the initiative of the Institute Jazz, it said.
Collins will also participate in a roundtable discussion with students, but he will not play at the concert himself.
