Van Wagner, The Watch, Gabriel Knights. Tre ottime Tribute Band in un indimenticabile weekend con i Genesis.
I Van Wagner, tra gli eroi del Genesis Day 2016 ad Assisi (qui sotto nel video), hanno suonato a Correggio (RE), venerdì, al DudeMusic studio, con un repertorio che non fa differenze tra periodo “Gabriel” o “Collins”.
Una data importante per la band, che ha scelto proprio questa tappa per ufficializzare il nuovo nome: “THE CAGE – Genesis tribute band”. Possibile già visitare il nuovo sito www.thecagetribute.com.
La serata, con un pubblico di grandi appassionati, è stata propizia anche per la registrazione della loro prima demo.
Ieri sera è scattata la sfida Milano-Roma. La capitale ha visto i Gabriel Knights inaugurare la loro nuova stagione di concerti con uno spettacolo al Teatro San Luigi Guanella.
Per l’occasione hanno celebrato il debutto di Foxtrot, quarantaquattro anni più tardi. Non sono mancati i brani più famosi degli album precedenti e due estratti da Selling.
Milano ha risposto con The Watch al Teatro Menotti. Stesso periodo, quello prog dei Genesis, con in scaletta i due album Trespass e Nursery Cryme più alcune sorprese del periodo Gabriel.
The Watch sono invece in chiusura del loro European Tour 2016 con più di 40 date in tutta Europa e UK.

In 2002 and 2003, following the release of the album Up, Peter Gabriel went on the road with his Growing Up tour, once again collaborating with production designer Robert Lepage to create a spectacular and theatrical live experience. The tour took in thirty-two cities across the USA, Canada and Europe with this concert film, directed by Hamish Hamilton, being shot over two nights at the FilaForum in Milan in May 2003 with Peter Gabriel and the band performing “in the round” at the centre of the arena. Filmed in high definition, this was originally released on DVD in 2003 but never on Blu-ray. The DVD is now being reissued and the concert is being released on Blu-ray for the first time.
Read more on Growing Up LiveStill Growing Up Live & Unwrapped is taken from the Still Growing Up tour of 2004, which took Peter Gabriel and his band into smaller and more intimate venues in contrast to the large arenas chronicled in the Growing Up Live film. Award-winning director Hamish Hamilton reunites with Peter Gabriel for this concert film. The Unwrapped film sees Anna Gabriel take over the director’s chair with the collaboration of Hamish Hamilton. A simpler approach suggested a different set list and Peter, Hamish and Anna were determined that this should be filmed in a very different style. It shows Peter Gabriel as many of his fans love to see him, just playing the music. Filmed in standard definition only.

Il “Black Show” non è mai stato eseguito dai Genesis nel vecchio continente, lo ha potuto gustare solo il pubblico americano.
Un’occasione per vedere un pezzo inedito di storia della Band, grazie ai Musical Box. Peccato che in Italia non siano ancora previste date.
